Rabies Control
Mass Anti-Rabies Vaccination (ARV) Drive
Free rabies vaccination for dogs and cats at ward-level camps across all six Area Councils.
The department runs continuous, free anti-rabies vaccination camps for owned and community dogs and cats across the FCT's six Area Councils, in line with the national target of eliminating dog-mediated human rabies deaths.
Field teams set up temporary vaccination points in market squares, ward offices, and community centres, working with ward heads and community animal health workers to reach owners who might not otherwise bring animals to a clinic.
Every dose is logged against the Area Council and, where available, the specific community — the running total is published on the impact dashboard.
