Livestock Disease Control
Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) Vaccination Campaign
Scheduled FMD vaccination rounds for cattle, sheep, and goats ahead of the dry-season trade season.
Foot-and-mouth disease remains one of the most economically damaging livestock diseases in the region, and the department runs scheduled vaccination rounds for cattle, sheep, and goats across grazing reserves and settled herds in the FCT.
Campaigns are timed ahead of the dry-season livestock movement and trade season, when contact between herds from different areas increases the risk of spread.
Herders and Fulani community liaisons help identify herd locations in advance so field teams can plan efficient routes.
